Corrosion of Conformity is an American heavy metal band formed in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1982. Starting out in hardcore punk and crossover thrash, they evolved into southern, stoner, and sludge metal with powerful riffs and bluesy grooves. Hits include “Albatross,” “Clean My Wounds,” and “Vote with a Bullet.” Their latest studio effort, No Cross No Crown (2018), reached #67 on the Billboard 200. They’re known for collaborations with James Hetfield on “Man or Ash,” Warren Haynes, and side-projects like Pepper Keenan’s work with Down.
